- What is your take on the recent deadlock between the left and the government?
It is indeed very disappointing to see that the left and the NDA has been acting in such an irresponsible manner. Such an act was expected from the left. After all for them communism comes before the nation. They will surely side with their ideological masters, whenever India is about to make a giant leap. They have done this in the past. They are doing it now. Communists are of the foulest of the clans in the nation.
The response of the BJP led NDA has been surprising. NDA has always championed the national cause, but today, I see no reason, other that political interest, for such a behaviour of the BJP.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, has indeed shown his Sikh bravery. He has been portrayed as a dummy PM, but the way he has taken his stand on the Indo-US agreement, is indeed worthy of appreciation.
If due to this deadlock the government falls, let it be. I know that the people are overwhelmingly supporting this new era of Indo-US relationship, and I think its wise to let them decide their foreign policy.
I think it is a sign of growing maturity, that foreign policy too is becoming a part of the core Indian politics. I reflects the growing status of India, as well as the growing interest of Indians in the world.
There are reports that China is not very pleased with the increasing Indo-US closeness. There are also inputs that China is trying to increase its influence on the other SAARC nations, and considering a nuclear deal with Pakistan. How do you look at China in the present perspective?
China, no doubt is a large nation. Its presence in the world affairs is natural owing to its largeness. India and China are the two largest nations of the world and both are naturally one of the major forces in the world. Sometimes I feel amused the way China fears India.
China and India are two very different nations. One is a communist nation while the other is a Democracy. I have some inbuilt grudge against the Communists. The Chinese government is one of the most power hungry institutions in the world. They aspire the superpower status and consider the rise of India as an obstacle. The rise of china is a fact and it is destined with great might and power in the future. We want that a nation of more than a billion people is empowered, but I would add that it is the Chinese people not the communist government that we want to see rising. Establishment of Democracy is one of the major aspects of the Indian foreign policy and Democricisation of China is one of the major goals.
India does not aspire for the superpower status. We aspire for no power but love. We want one united borderless world. Every world has a leader, today's world is being led by a superpower and we are satisfied with the way it is leading. There have been some mistakes in the past, yet India will continue to support and guide these leading nations so that we can create an ideal world. Any institution needs a great leader, a great follower and a great guide. We want to do the third task. Vishwa Guru is the need of the hour, and India with its rich history and spiritual tradition is geared up for the task. We will gude the leaders, and if needed be the leader itself. If there are no followers, our one billion people will be there to follow the leaders. We a commited to making a better world, a utopian world. Creation of the Ram Rajya has been the greatest aspiration of India, and we shall hae it very soon, much before the beginning of the 22nd century.
We know very well who are our friends and who are our enemies. We know how our enemy works. Our enemy has stabbed us in the past, but this time we will not let them do the coward deed again. If you want our land, take it. But please don't steal it. The best of the Indian mind forms our foreign policy and strategies. India is safe and there is know need of being skeptic about its security.
You said India is satisfied the way the superpower works? Do you mean India is an ally of the superpower?
We are indeed an ally of the leader. Who is the leader? The nation or the person that leads the world to a better future. We are the closest ally of that leader. We are not allied to a specific nation. We are only allied to the leader.
What is the immedeate future of Indian politics?
I believe the present government is about to fall and we are going towards mid term elections. I would add that the Left might perform miserably, and the next government will go forward with the nuclear deal.
